Potential vote of no confidence against Laporta being discussed in Barcelona

The situation surrounding Dani Olmo’s contract could have serious repercussions for Barcelona’s sporting director.

Details: Laporta’s political rivals are currently organizing behind-the-scenes efforts to undermine his leadership. Víctor Font, who ran against him in the 2020 elections, and Joan Camprobi are holding press conferences to address this issue.

The rivals are discussing a potential vote of no confidence against Laporta. To bring the matter to a vote, 15% of the club’s board members’ signatures are required. To remove the current president from office, at least two-thirds of the votes (66.6%) are necessary.

Reminder: Previous reports indicated that if Barcelona fails to complete Olmo’s registration by December 31, the midfielder could leave the club as a free agent. However, Olmo has so far shown little interest in pursuing that option.

By the way, a second court in Barcelona rejected the club’s appeal regarding Olmo’s registration.
